Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Unit

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Unit at JDWNRH is the first and only MRI facility in the country, established on July 3rd, 2006. This unit is dedicated to providing high-quality imaging services, operating for routine MRI cases from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays.

Services Offered

MRI Scans

The unit offers both non-contrast and contrast-enhanced MRI studies. The following exams are available:

  • Brain
  • Orbit or Sinuses
  • Pituitary
  • Neck
  • Spine
  • Brachial Plexus
  • Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)
  • Pelvis
  • Extremities

MRI Angiography

  • Brain
  • Carotid Artery
  • Thoracic Aorta
  • Abdominal Aorta
  • Renal Artery
  • Femoral Artery

All MRI appointments must be scheduled through the MRI Unit. Patients requiring IV contrast for their scans will need specific preparations as advised by the unit staff.

MRI is contraindicated for patients with the following conditions:

  • Cardiac Pacemaker
  • Cardiac Valve Prosthesis
  • Metallic Foreign Bodies
  • Aneurysm Clips
  • Vascular Stents
